Jeff Goldberg, FPEM, FMI, CHS-III
Mr. Goldberg holds the Florida Professional Emergency Manager certification, the Florida Master Instructor certification, and is a Certified Homeland Security Professional Level III. Currently, Mr. Goldberg is the Emergency Management Director for Walton County Emergency Management. Prior to that, Mr. Goldberg was the Planning Manager for Palm Beach County Emergency Management, and during his long career, held positions with the Seminole Tribe of Florida Emergency Management, was the Emergency Management Director for the Library of Congress in Washington D.C. and was responsible for building the Library’s emergency management program from the ground up. While in DC, he coordinated with the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, chaired the Capitol Hill Task Force on Emergency Management, served as an Emergency Response Team leader.Mr. Goldberg is the former Executive Officer of one of the nation's first Disaster Medical Assistance Teams (DMATs). He has also worked for a number of Emergency Management consulting companies both pre and post 9/11.
Chris Eliadis is the Operations Coordinator for Walton County Emergency Management. Day to day he is responsible for the department’s Training and Exercise Program, Community Emergency Response Team Program, Hazardous Materials Assessments, and “blue sky” social media. During disasters Chris is the Operations Section Chief, responsible for the development of overarching response strategies and supervises ten Emergency Support Functions and two branch directors. Prior to moving to Walton County, he was the Florida Division of Emergency Management’s (FDEM) Private Sector Liaison and was tasked with bridging the gap between the Public and Private Sectors during all mission areas of emergency management. During his tenure with the FDEM he was responsible for several projects including the State Watch Office (SWO) Training Program and the Florida Virtual Business Emergency Operations Center. Chris is a graduate of Florida State University and currently holds his Florida Professional Emergency Manager (FPEM) and Florida Master Instructor Certifications.
Candy Nowling is the Executive Director for the Matrix Community Outreach Center. Daily, she is responsible for garnering new opportunities, promoting stronger branding, and cultivating relationships with potential funders. She manages budgets, develops high-performance volunteer teams, and achieves goals to ensure that all programs and services are excellent and in keeping with the organization’s long-term mission. Candy is the Salvation Army’s Integrated Missions Specialist for Walton County, and is a Certified Community Emergency Response Team Instructor for the Walton County CERT Program. She intuitively sees the threads of opportunity that wind through an organization, brings them together into a coherent whole, and helps to prosper her community. During disasters, on behalf of the Matrix, she takes on the role of Human Services Branch Director for Walton County Emergency Management and oversees 5 Emergency Support Functions. Candy is a graduate of North West Florida State College and is currently enrolled at Florida State University in the Emergency Management and Homeland Security Certificate program.
Katelyn is a graduate student who has already completed the Graduate Certificate in Emergency Management and Homeland Security and is currently pursuing her Master of Public Administration. During the 2016, 2017, and 2018 hurricane seasons she served as the State Emergency Operations Center liaison for the Agency for Health Care Administration's preparedness and response supporting ESF8 –Public Health. Katelyn is the Emergency Planning Manager for Florida State University Emergency Management and manages the Continuity of Operations Planning (COOP), Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP), and other key initiatives such as training and exercises.
Leah is a second-year undergraduate student at Florida State University majoring in International Affairs and Middle Eastern Studies, as well as Political Science. She is in the process of obtaining certificates in Intelligence Studies and Emergency Management through the EMHS Department at FSU. Leah hopes to one day serve as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State.
Adrianna is an International Affairs and English major at Florida State University and is projected to graduate in Spring of 2021. She is also receiving a certificate in Emergency Management and Homeland Security. She has previously interned with the Florida Division of Emergency Management under ESF-14 External Affairs.
